Why We do What We Do
Written on March 1, 2010 by mimecine
It’s about the people, the places, the people… Not forgetting how to make things, how things are made, who is making them and why… showing it to others and wanting to share what we find in the world, it’s about travel and discovering and learning. Now… some images from Portugal… Later… some posts… hopefully these things we share help and encourage you to go and meet and talk and learn and see and show. You don’t have to travel far, you just have to get off the machine and take a walk , look up and around you, beauty is everywhere.
In: Portugal.
Thank you to come with those beautiful eyes and that wanderfull soul! Also, we see what we are and we get what we deserve…. eh eh.. 🙂 Saudades!

Very nice of you loving so much your trip to Portugal. I just wish you could quote portuguese correctly: “Caza de Vellas do Loreto” not “Caza Vellas do Loreto”, “Bairro Alto” not “Barrio Alto”. The tambourine you say has a depiction of Braga cathedral as in fact depicited the Bom Jesus (Good Jesus) shrine at Braga with its almost endless 581 steps staircased via sacra with its some 19 chapels, simbolic fountains for each of the five senses and three theologal virtues that end at the top of hill church of Bom Jesus do Monte.

Ouch! Corrected the misspellings – The description of the Bom Jesus shrine, well, I’d hope for our misled customers to find your comment above. Our descriptions shouldn’t be seen as absolutely factually correct — they are after all mangled memories from our trips and are meant to inspire and evoke good and bad feelings among those who read them, more so than absolutely educating them. And 581 is absolutely 100 steps too many! Impressive of the clergymen, but so impractical!
