Hi, this is Alisa. To start, I would like to introduce the KIOSK team and participants, these are friends who have all helped the shop for limited funds or for free since we started in December 2005. Ross Menuez (www.salvorprojects.com) does all the graphics and shop design with us, photographer Keetja Allard (www.keetjaallard.com) provides constant good input, the writer Yuki Matsuo handles the shop and goods from Japan, Marco Romeny, my husband, does everything from programming to mopping, Fran Pollitt shoots all the studio shots of the products (www.francespollitt.com), famous Ega Hiroshi is our Tokyo contact, the graphic designer Judith Rytz is our Stockholm help for Sweden, Mau and Tony (www.dfcasa.com) put us up in Mexico City and are our Mexico team, friends Kirsty and Burkhard hosted us in Berlin and provided infinite advice, guidance and opinion on the German goods, Annette and Oliver have a brilliant shop named Kwikshop in Berlin (www.kwikshop.de), they are our German team. I’m the shopkeeper, buyer, researcher, cleaning lady, etc etc. So you see, KIOSK is a bunch of people making this collection of goods happen.

Hi, this is KIOSK HELLO, the info center for the shop KIOSK. It’s a place to share our resources, tips, pointers, inspiration, opinions, highs and lows we find or experience while traveling or in daily life. So you can look up where we ate in Berlin, shopped in Köln, how (literally) we drove to a really remote village in Chiapas and how we got ripped off by a taxi the day before, what we saw there, what blew our minds and what did not, where to stay in San Cristobal, what to look for in Dalarna, Sweden or a cheap ryokan in Tokyo. Basically some rambling thoughts and finds, a living guidebook. Beyond sharing our information, I mean why keep all these beautiful things to oneself?, what we are really hoping for is that people who know our shop will add in their own tips and that when we are researching a country we can write a shout-out. Please! help us help you. Please! help us! But please, no worries about grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. and don’t expect too much either, some days we will post a number of entries at other times not much may be happening . This is a strait-forward, hopefully interesting database of information to take from and add to as you please. Take it easy, enjoy… HELLO? HELLO! HELLO HELLO
