Holiday 2011

December 6, 2011 by mimecine

Oboy, it’s time for this again:

No kidding, it’s the holidays again, have you noticed? Are you taking the time to enjoy them or are you simply
ignoring Santa? This year we want you to enjoy the holidays. The greater good needs some happiness. Think of all of us when you make cookies, eat with friends, drink glögg and wrap gifts. Here at Kiosk we have been speeding it up. The place is decorated, we have many new things for the season, Chris is hanging the wreath, Nate is starting on the gift bags, Marco has gone digital and Alisa is passed out in the hammock chair. The Polkagris
came over with a friend, Noa’s calendar is back, there is something called Tears of Love, well, you
can see it all HERE. We can also offer: fun, odd things, conversation, holiday advice,
gift advice, sweets, toys and joys. If you need any of the above stop in, write us or call, seriously, we enjoy that stuff. Contact info below.

This is a coupon for 15% off at KIOSK to say thank you.

Bring it in when you come by or type in “Hohoho” when online.

Use the savings to treat someone to something, pass it on.

Yuki has done it again with “Yuki’s Amazing Christmas Shop”. Vintage items. This year she worked with O.C. and David from the 25th Street Flea Market. What they have come up with is nothing short of an extravaganza. You can see it HERE. If you are not in the mood for Christmas now you will be soon…
You can find us at 95 Spring Street every day until the 25th of December from 11 – 8pm. Yep, that’s right, we are open on Sundays and an extra hour every day too. My goodness. Happy Holidays!

Great to have old friends help out. Our new KIOSK bags will be hot off the presses from The Power Plant, a home grown roof top printing enterprise!

Not sure what’s going on with the preserved vegetable, but…

Exciting stuff!

KIOSK: America #4 opening Thursday night

November 14, 2011 by mimecine

Vermont drives and foliage forays. Maple saplings all around and a cool breeze. Bread and Puppet in their feisty of all feisty moments, loving every second in a Glover pine forest. A drive over Smugglers Notch and tiny house building with Peter King. The Long Trail. Rambles down the Valley while wearing tie dyes and eating American Flatbread. Oh the joy of maple tinted pizza, maple tainted anything. Vermont, give me your cheese and your elderberry you damn fool. For now we are all about you.America #4 at KIOSK

noah purifoy

Noah Purifoy’s Desert Art Museum in Joshua Tree, California… Really incredible stuff, a wild collaboration between artist and nature, a surreal experience to walk through, it is 10 acres of assemblage sculptures in the wild and crazy desert.. Highly recommended if you are going out there.

A quote from the artist : “I hope my work provides inspiration for a person to do today what they couldn’t do yesterday, no matter what it is. That’s art. That’s the fundamental creative process and it’s something that changes people and empowers them.”

November 1, 2011 by Alisa

Hi

We were planning on moving our money to a local credit union at the turn of the year, specifically to The Lower East Side People’s Federal Credit Union. Pleased to see MoveOn sent an email around asking people to pledge to do the same.

William Forsythe tonight, tomorrow and Saturday night at bam

October 28, 2011 by Alisa

We saw, it was good, amazing movement, inexpensive mezzanine seats that were perfectly fine, very nice at BAM, I Don’t Believe in Outerspace.  Little too dramatic at times as dance can be but we say GO. An added bonus, the tickets are really reasonable. ( Image from BOMB, Clouds After Cranach)

penny loafers and chickens

October 5, 2011 by Alisa

My friend sent me this image, I love it, he is an ex-eastcoaster , a New Jersey raised guy. He really has relocated to the west but took a touch of his past in the east with him. If you are thinking about Wall Street, join-em! Whichever you think is in the right — but please do join the LEFT. FACT: “Between 18% and 27% of American adults identify themselves as liberal, versus moderate or conservative” Is the percentage so wide as it depends on the moment they are asked or their mood?
