I just got off the phone with the people at west county cider and we were both speaking in such good terms about your product

what a shame, I am not sure what to say to you actually, every american producer has more or less responded to me about our project with either skepticism (what do I get out of this? what does it cost me?) or a response like yours (I don’t have the time) It’s nonsense.

funny, so many small producers complain to me again and again and again and again how hard it is (it is hard for us too, no salary to speak of for almost 3 years) and we want to support the american producers and guess what! none of them have the time to meet! or the interest! Pretty different from when we did Hong Kong! I think I cam coming to understand more clearly why the United States is in the state we are in, truly depressing but something to learn from it, here we are a small american company trying to support other small american companies and they could care less

at least this starts a dialog of a sort…

150 sq feet It is a small space in what was an all artists building on Union Square at the corner of 17th and Broadway, now artists, photographers and designers mainly. Own entrance, not a shared space.  Nice feeling.  There can be one desk the rest of the space is empty except we store some boxes on the top shelf, we will pay $40 towards the rent to leave them there, the rest of the bookcase and space is empty. There is a little work sink. No phone and no internet but it is possible to arrange internet. A few shelves and nothing more, basic and simple. Building has 24 hr / 7 day access. 2 large windows facing east, good light all day

rent $924 including electricity — $40 we pay = total rent $884

About 50% of the centers of Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula (the “city” areas of Hong Kong) are pure madness the other 50% are western style, very upscale shopping malls. As a visitor both are equally interesting, as they represent two very different but equally important sides of Hong Kong. Here are some images from Sham Shu Po (Kowloon, one of the earliest developed districts and now considered by the government as a center of urban decay in need of “renewal” although we loved it there and could go again and again), Lan Kwai Fong (Hong Kong Island, ex-pat area, becoming primarily touristic but still has some interesting buildings and aspects ) Pacific Place Mall (in the center of Hong Kong Island, good for a bathroom pit-stop at least, not good to go to more than once ) and for good measure the view of Hong Kong Island at night from Kowloon, a great brain rinser at the end of the day, along with a late night ride on the Star Ferry. Sorry the images are out of order, hope to change that but for now please read the labels!
