Many of you remember Curious George and his friend the man with the yellow hat. The little monkey had various adventures trying to make his way through the urban jungle. A lesser known work of the German born children’s book author H.A. Rey is the book The Stars: A New Way to See Them. Published in 1952, Rey’s illustrated story book illuminated patterns and shapes of star constellations that would make it easier for children to recognize them. The shapes he found were so memorable that they were adopted for many astronomy guides and are mostly still used today. The illustrations themselves are really quite beautiful. I am excited at the prospect of finding all the constellations on the next clear night!

Germany is number one. Inside is the German collection and our resources from the trip…where we ate, slept, places we went, suggest to go to in Germany, etc etc… Produced under the gun and self-published at Prince Street Copies (great guys I have been visiting for over 10 years, support your local stores!) in Soho, hand-stamped and numbered, we could only afford to print 160. Next country is Finland, we will be making a book for every country if all goes as planned! Will be posting German resources on this blog as time permits, have to add Stockholm first as friends are traveling there soon!

Update: You can find it here on the site.
