hong kong style stained glass

March 26, 2008 by KIOSK

You have to hand it to Hong Kong, the place knows it’s mission in life. Whereas stained glass would normally have a religious tone to it, this one from the 80’s (we think based on the style of the computer and phone) has a definite hi-tech / future forward ring. Plane (Cathay Pacific) meets computer […]

Signage in Hong Kong is a very beautiful thing

March 5, 2008 by KIOSK

Neon or simple, signage in Hong Kong is amazing. The color pallets are very inspiring too. To me the pace of the signs reflect the pace of the people and the place. One day I would like to visit some Hong Kong neon workshops and sign painters.

Its about walking and talking at the same time

by KIOSK

Hong Kong is about walking and talking and doing 100’s of things at the same time. As a visitor both are equally interesting, […]

March 1, 2008 by KIOSK

Here I am sitting dreaming of certain things we ate in Hong Kong while I pour over dim sum possibilities for tomorrow. I thought one of the best things I could do right now to get the fantasy of eating in Hong Kong out of my system would be to show others some of the […]

Ladies with carts in Hong Kong

February 26, 2008 by KIOSK

We are now getting ready to put Hong Kong in the shop! It was a great trip. Hong Kong is both a wonderful and tragic glimpse into the future, both completely inspiring and terrifying and loud and urgent and malls and population density and pollution and really wonderful, wonderful people. These two ladies sum it […]

Wakana Inn Tokyo

April 5, 2007 by Alisa

I came across the Wakana Inn business card today in my pile
It is an amazing, small, traditional ryokan run by a lovely older woman in a great part of Tokyo called Kagurazaka, the old geisha area. It feels very relaxed and everyday. In the past it was more bustling and frequented mainly by writers, […]
