What a beautiful story! Reminds me of another one I read to my daughter frequently called 'The lucky old woman' (Robin Muller). Basically about an old lady always happy with her lot (which isn't much & at the end of the day she teaches kindness & love to the cheeky grumpleteaser, a mischief maker always playing tricks on others.

PS. Awesome store & concept - lovely appetiser - can't wait to be travelling again.

Sounds like a great endeavor! Welcome to new York! Speaking of food - did you happen to see Yuki's book when you were in? *Not* trrying to sell it, but it has a fab listing of small inexpensive restaurants in and around the city. In japanese though, so it's really only the images and addresses we could use, but it's mostly enough.
I guess you are kind of right - instead of posting on our blog we add a random something to the shop.. Wish we took time to do more of both.. I'm a terrible blogger I have to admit:) Better transform yesterdays email to a post pronto.

Nail Soup was my favourite book as a child and I've named my blog after it. I'm an English journalist, new to New York, and I go round the city having delivery food with people I get to know through Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere. It's a social networking experiment cum food reviews blog but mainly an excuse to write about interesting people I meet and find out what treasures they have in their cupboards. It's here: http://nailsoup.wordpress.com.
Love Kiosk - visiting your shop feels like wandering round a blog.
