hong kong style stained glass

Written on March 26, 2008 by KIOSK

p1070235.jpgYou have to hand it to Hong Kong, the place knows it’s mission in life. Whereas stained glass would normally have a religious tone to it, this one from the 80’s (we think based on the style of the computer and phone) has a definite hi-tech / future forward ring. Plane (Cathay Pacific) meets computer meets mobile phone meets creepy human eyes trapped in the machine. What is going on! Don’t forget the cross in the center of the screen.

I liked the stained glass. I never saw one with a computer. This art is a breath of fresh air. Very innovative. I liked this technology influenced art.

I LOVE that you did hong kong. it’s such an overlooked, precious, dear, precious place to me.

Shamsuipo is my grandmotherland, and when i went to visit (i lived there a summer with her) mid-college and met up with American interning-expat finance buddies, they did not appreciate the…lack of luxury.
I felt so foolish and hurt!
It was difficult convincing them to eat in the street next to garbage in july.

thank you for loving my neighborhood!
