OMG …. chicken whistles!!! My BFF and I each got one when we visited Finland in 1972. I can’t believe they are still around, 35 years later!!!! And obviously from the very same mold. Mine was painted black, white and red. But the shape was exactly the same. After only an hour’s practice (deeply annoying to everyone around me), I could play “Da Doo Run Run Run” on my chicken whistle. Sadly, they are only made of clay and are very fragile. My beloved chicken whistle bit the dust in one of my many moves over the years. Thanks for the memories. Great site, BTW.

The way to have the morning porridge (every morning since I started eating solids) is:

    - 2.5 dl full fat milk
    - 1 dl Elovena
    - 1 teaspoon salt

Way #1. Boil the milk. Add the Elovena and salt. Boil until the consistence is desired (I like it a little runny). Pour on a deep plate and dig a hole in the middle. Add a lump of butter in the hole and enjoy!

Way #2. Boil the milk. Add the Elovena and salt. Boil until the porridge is quite hard. Pour on a deep plate and add cold milk arround it (like a moat). Sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on top (what the hell, sprinkle a lot!). Enjoy!

Way #3. Boil the milk. Dissolve some sugar (~1 tblspoon) into the milk. Add Elovena and boil until the consistence is desired (I like it a little runny). Pour on a deep plate and dig a hole in the middle. Add a lump of butter in the hole and enjoy.

From these, the #1 is my favourite.
